Trude of Ellingsen Photography

Thank you for stopping by! You’re probably wondering how I pronounce my name, and that’s okay – think of it like True-dah.

I am a natural light, on-location photographer based in Orange County who specializes in people and their pets. My Italian Greyhound, Dante, was rescued from the Seal Beach Animal Care Center and is my constant companion. I have a ridiculously loud laugh, so be glad this isn’t a video blog!

A New (Blog) Home

February 7th, 2012

As previously hinted, after some very late nights I’m proud to announce that EllingsenPhoto.com has officially re-launched! It’s now a website and blog all in one. I’m thrilled with how it turned out (much love to the folks over at ProPhoto Blogs)! I still have quite a bit of work to do, but the basics [...]

As previously hinted, after some very late nights I’m proud to announce that EllingsenPhoto.com has officially re-launched! It’s now a website and blog all in one. I’m thrilled with how it turned out (much love to the folks over at ProPhoto Blogs)! I still have quite a bit of work to do, but the basics are all there, as is all my content from here. And the best part is I only have to maintain one domain now!

So please update your RSS feeds and bookmarks, because in a couple days this here domain will be redirecting to the new and improved space. I’m sorry for the digital inconvenience, but I promise you won’t need to do it again. :)

If you have a moment, please stop on by and let me know what you think!

Here in Southern California I associate early spring with jasmine, one of my favorite scents. Looking back through my archives from last year, I found this in my February folder and realized that soon enough it’ll be about to pop again! My parents have a giant jasmine plant in their backyard that has really become more like a tree, and you know I’ll be stealing bunches of it for my own place. :)

I just love this quote from Will Rogers (another Southern California institution), because I think letting it’s something everybody has to tackle at least once in a while.

1280 x 1024 | 1600 x 1200 | 1680 x 1050 | 1920 x 1080 | 1920 x 1200 | 2560 x 1440

Hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend!

xoxo

P.S. Fonts are all lovely free ones that I find myself using over and over: Wisdom Script, SmallTypeWriting, Ostrich Sans, and Ribbon.

Happy Weekend!

February 3rd, 2012

Hope you enjoy your weekend as much as Dante enjoys sleeping in the sun. (That’s his I-just-woke-up face.)

Some good reads this week:

  • I’m now jonesing for the wee digital Minox camera after seeing what the always-amazing Rachel Devine did with it.
  • Jacqueline’s gorgeous photos of gourmet hot chocolate made me immediately question my choice of Swiss Miss instant this morning.
  • Learning my Photoshop ABCs is one of the best things I ever did for my mouse hand. Katrina over at Pugly Pixel put together the prettiest cheat sheet for them that I’ve ever seen!
  • A wonderful tutorial on how the folks over at Yellow Brick Home frame using vintage frames they thrift. It never occurred to me you could get glass cut to size!

I’ll be hard at work on a blog/website redesign (ssshhh), finding a decent pair of jeans and taking a trip to the shelter. What are your plans?

…except for when his genius mama doesn’t realize one of his ears is flipped back. So, naturally, we won’t be using this shot for his Match.com profile.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I was down for about half of it with a migraine, but I’ve got too much to do this week so it’s just going to have to go bother someone else now.
